Discord QR Code Questions

A Discord QR code encodes your server's invite URL (e.g. https://discord.gg/AbCdEf). When someone scans it with their phone camera, it opens the Discord app or website directly to your server's invite page, where they can join instantly.

Discord invite links are tied to a specific channel. When you create an invite in Discord, you choose which channel the invite points to. The person joining will land in that channel by default. To change the channel, create a new invite from the desired channel in Discord.

It depends on how you created the invite in Discord. By default, invites expire after 24 hours. However, you can create permanent invites by setting the expiration to "Never" when generating the invite link in Discord. For QR codes, we strongly recommend using permanent invites.

Not necessarily. If they have Discord installed, the QR code will open the app directly to your server invite. If they don't have it, the link will open in a web browser where they can join via Discord's web app or be prompted to download the desktop or mobile app.
