We support any valid URL format including HTTP and HTTPS links. You can link to any webpage, landing page, file download, Google Maps location, social media profile, or any other web resource. The URL must start with http:// or https://.
Static QR codes (like the ones generated here) don't have built-in tracking. However, you can use URL parameters (UTM tags) to track scans via Google Analytics. For example, add ?utm_source=qr&utm_medium=print to your URL before generating the QR code.
As a general rule, the QR code should be at least 2 x 2 cm (0.8 x 0.8 inches) for close-range scanning. For posters or billboards, follow the 10:1 ratio — the scanning distance divided by 10 equals the minimum QR code size. Download as SVG for infinite scaling.
Error correction allows a QR code to be read even if it's partially damaged or dirty. Level L recovers 7% of data, M recovers 15%, Q recovers 25%, and H recovers 30%. Use L for digital screens, M for standard prints, and H if you plan to add a logo overlay or for outdoor use where the code may get damaged.
No. The QR code itself is static and never expires. It will work as long as the destination URL remains active and accessible. If the webpage is taken down or the domain expires, the QR code will still try to open that URL but will show a page-not-found error.
Yes, but maintain sufficient contrast. The foreground should always be darker than the background. Avoid using very light foreground colors or very similar colors for foreground and background. Our generator warns you if the contrast is too low for reliable scanning.
